He is Risen!

As Easter Sunday, and the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ draws near, it has me pondering the greatest sacrifice ever made. I find myself gripped with gratitude as the song “When I Think About The Lord” pours out from my spirit and glides upward into heaven. My worship of the King of Glory flows from my lips and reaches the throne room of God.

Because of the cross, I have access to The One who created it all.

Jesus paid the ultimate price. He was our sacrificial lamb. His willingness to go to the cross, where His precious and perfect blood was poured out, was compelled by His true and uncomparable love for us. The greatest love ever known.

Jesus endured beating, torture, mockery, rejection, crucifixion and death so that we could have the opportunity to be with Him for all of eternity. He bled and died to wash away our sins.

What a tremendous love that held Him to the cross on Calvary. What an insurmountable gift of love He gave to us. He bled and died….and was buried in the dark tomb.

But on the third day…He rose from the grave!

Hallelujah!

When the women went to the tomb of Jesus they found the mighty stone rolled away and an Angel said to them ”You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here.” (Mark 16:6)

Our response to His love and sacrifice is what seals the deal regarding where we are going to spend eternity. We each have a choice. The most important choice we will ever make. Jesus paid for our sin on the cross. And it is our part to believe. We have to believe, we have to accept, we have to receive His gift and repent.

Do you believe? Do you accept? Do you receive and repent?

When we meet Jesus at the foot of the cross, knowing that He did it all for us – taking our sin upon himself – it demands a response. And if we do believe, receive and accept His gift of atonement, we are truly changed. We are washed in His blood. We then willingly respond by laying down our own life for Him.

At the cross we exchange our sin for forgiveness, our bondage for freedom, our shame for glory and our guilt for grace.

At the cross we exchange our sin for forgiveness, our bondage for freedom, our shame for glory and our guilt for grace. We then walk in accordance to His word. Our life is no longer our own. We are born again, made new and set free! He gave His life for us and we give our life to Him. The beautiful exchange happens – and it is remarkable.

The feelings of freedom, redemption and sanctification are indescribable!

It makes me want to shout! Hallelujah! Thank you, Jesus!! Lord, you’re worthy, of all the glory, and all the honor and all the praise!

The Song written by Christ For The Nations is the one I’ve been singing this week as I remember the freedom that Jesus gave to me – how He washed my sin away and set my feet on solid ground. Oh, I am so thankful! I have been redeemed!

“When I think about the Lord

How He saved me, how He raised me

How He filled me, with the Holy Ghost

How He healed me, to the uttermost

When I think about the Lord

How He picked me up and turned me around

How He set my feet on solid ground

It makes me wanna shout

Hallelujah

Thank you Jesus

Lord, you’re worthy, of all the glory, and all the honor

And all the praise

It makes me wanna shout

Hallelujah

Thank you Jesus

Lord, you’re worthy, of all the glory, and all the honor

And all the praise”

I am very, very grateful for Jesus and His willingness to go to the cross – to take my sin upon Himself and die in my place. I am so in awe that He conquered death and on the third day He rose again!

He is the resurrection and the life! (John 11:25)

He is not dead!

He has risen!

He lives, friends!

And He wants a relationship with you

As we reflect on the reason we celebrate Easer, may our hearts burst forth with our immense gratitude in worship and shout, “Hallelujah, thank you Jesus!”

He has won the victory! As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord!

Happy Easter, friends!

Be Blessed,

~ Stephanie

  1. Thank you for sharing and reminding us all of the love of God displayed on the old rugged Cross! I have literally been to the tomb of Jesus twice and yes Jesus is not there, He is risen!
