Cheddar and Ranch Cheese Ball

Hi friends! Easter is fast approaching and I wanted to share one of my favorite appetizers with you. I have made this Cheddar and Ranch Cheese Ball countless times and for all different occasions. It gets many compliments each time it is served. Cheese is always a great idea, right?

This appetizer is incredibly easy to make. And, if by the small chance there is any left over, it stores so nicely for up to a week in the fridge.

Here it is, friends! If you try it, I am certain you will love it!

Ingredients:

2 (8 ounce) packages of cream cheese, softened (14 oz total)

1 (1 ounce) package of ranch dressing mix

2 1/2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese

1 1/2 cups chopped pecans

Directions:

  1. Mix together the softened cream cheese, ranch packet mix, and shredded cheddar cheese in a bowl. On a side-note, I prefer to buy the block of cheese and shred it myself, as opposed to buying the pre-shredded kind. It tastes much better!
  2. Form the mixture into a ball.
  3. Roll the ball into the chopped pecans, covering the entire area.
  4. Cover the shaped ball with plastic wrap and refrigerate until you are ready to serve.
  5. Serve with your favorite crackers and enjoy!
Chop pecans.
Shred the cheddar cheese.
Mix together the softened cream cheese, ranch packet and shredded cheddar cheese.
Form the mixture into a ball.
Roll the ball in the chopped pecans, covering the entire surface of the ball.
Cover the cheese ball with plastic wrap and refrigerate until serving.
Serve with your favorite crackers.
You guys, it’s sooooo good!
Here is a fun and creative version for Easter, made by my Aunt Karen. She assembled the cheese ball recipe into the shape of a carrot – adding the cheese to the outside (instead of the pecans) for the orange color and fresh parsley as the carrot stem.
So creative! Isn’t it cute?
