Praise

Praise! That is the word I keep hearing in my spirit.

It is the beginning of a new month and when asking the Lord for a fresh focus for August I keep hearing Him say, “Praise!”

The road of life has been rough and bumpy for the past few months. Well, honestly it has been that way for a couple of years. I don’t think I am alone in that sentiment. It seems everyone has had a tough go. Personally, my struggles have seemed to compound over time, leaving me battle weary and worn. When trusting God for breakthrough, the days and nights can seem long and lonely. But do you know what is so powerful about praise?  

Praise ushers in the life-changing, chain-breaking, freedom-finding presence of God. It opens the floodgates of heaven where the mighty, rushing river of God’s amazing presence gushes forth, drenching you and engulfing every part of you – wherever you are.

Praising Jesus brings Him near. When He is near our worries, struggles and strife quickly fade away. I love the way Joyce Meyer says it: “Complain and remain. Praise and be raised.”

Praise calms the storm.

Praise releases peace.

Praise silences the lying voice of the enemy.

Praise births fresh hope.

Praise is our fiery weapon.

Praise is our victory cry.

So PRAISE Him!

Praise Him in your secret, solitary battle - breakthrough is coming.

Praise Him in your sorrow and in your pain - healing is coming.

Praise Him in your heartache and in your grief - joy is coming.

Praise Him in your lack and in your need - provision is coming.

Praise Him in your abundance and blessing - a double portion is coming.

Praise Him!

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! – Psalms 150:6
