Remain in Him

There are seasons to flourish and bloom, seasons to trim and prune and seasons to replant and wait. But rest assured, friend…there is always growth and new life if we remain in Jesus.

I have heard it said,

“New life starts in the dark. Whether it’s a seed in the ground, a baby in the womb or Jesus in the tomb.” – Barbara Brown Taylor

Whatever season you find yourself in today, trust the one who created you. Trust the one who created it all.

If you are blooming and thriving, rejoice! If you are feeling the sting of the pruning sheers, keep the faith. If you are waiting and all seems lost and dark, remember – new life begins in darkness.

Just as the butterfly transforms in the secret place of the cocoon, you too can emerge from the darkness with beautiful wings to fly. Jesus is the vine and when we remain ( i.e. continue to exist, stay or occupy) in Him, He breathes His life and brings the fruit of the harvest.

Stay in the vine – Christ Jesus – and allow the Lord to tend your garden.

Jesus said,

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:1-5
