Peppermint Patties

When I think about Christmas I think about peppermint. The two just go hand-in-hand. Today I wanted to share this Peppermint Patty recipe with you all since you can never have enough candy or desserts when the holidays roll around.

These patties taste amazing and they are a lot of fun to make, too.

Ingredients:

1/4 cup softened butter

1/3 cup light corn syrup

3 cups powdered sugar

2 tsp peppermint extract

2 cups dipping chocolate (I prefer milk chocolate, but it is most common to use dark chocolate)

Instructions:

  1. Combine the butter, corn syrup, extract and powdered sugar in a mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly for 3 minutes or until ingredients form and hold together.
  2. Remove about 2 teaspoon full sections of mixture at a time, rolling the batter mixture into a ball and then flattening it into a patty shape with your hands.
  3. Place the formed patties on a sheet pan lined with wax paper. When all the patties are complete, place the pan with the patties into the freezer for 10 to 15 minutes.
  4. Melt your chocolate then remove the patties from the freezer and dip the patties in the chocolate one of the time. Place the dipped patties back on the wax paper.
  5. Place the tray with dipped patties back into the freezer for another 10 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden.
  6. Enjoy!
Combine butter, corn syrup, extract and powdered sugar in mixer and mix for 3 minutes until it forms together.
Form about 2 teaspoons of mixture into balls and then flatten into patties.
Dip the patties into the chocolate of your choice. I prefer milk chocolate but dark chocolate is more popular for the peppermint patties.

This recipe is bound to be a crowd favorite for all peppermint lovers out there. I hope you enjoy these as much as I did. I made a batch to give as party favors for a Christmas gathering I hosted and they looked great on the dinner table in these adorable little gingerbread house boxes I found at Target. Here are a few pictures from that Christmas party.

Peppermint is a Christmas must and if you decide to try this recipe, reach out and let me know how you like it!

Happy Holidays, everyone!
